We got home from the concert a little late today. The day started with home improvement drilling by the neighbors. Followed by a mini conference on the regional Gideons International at the Baptist Church of Rijeka. When the Iron Curtain fell and the civil war ended in the late 1990s, GI expanded into the Balkans. It distributed millions of new testaments annually to hotels as well as to the police and military. Multiple business professionals spoke about surrendering their companies and employees to God and the outcome. The speakers were broken by refreshments, lunch, and more snacks.
After group pictures, we hightailed it to the Pula Arena to deliver Ivan for concert setup. The mini “colosseum” packed in 5000 people from all over. Singers from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, England and the US opened for Hillsong United, at the same place Christians were martyred long ago. The subtitles in the original language didn’t help us much but we recognized most of the songs. They preached and played the gospel from dusk till almost midnight to the massive thumping crowd. We made it to bed at 2.
Please pray that people will read the new testament for themselves and see what it actually said. That Gideons can reach professionals to work as if for God. That authorities will continue granting permissions to place more bubbles. That the gospel will reach those in the Pula crowd and surrounding apartments.
