Today was a travel day from Karlovac to Zadar, with slight detours to 2 waterfalls. The first was the 23 falls of Rastoke on a tributary of the Korana River in the town of Slunje. The water powered mills, situated right above the waterfall, before the advent of electricity. Awe-inspiringly impressive, until…
National Park Krka. This place was about 50 km beyond our destination of Zadar, but worth the extra drive. Google Maps directed us to the hiker entrance 7 km and uphill from the parking lot and the stroller entrance. Driving down several switchbacks, we arrived at the 1.9 km walking trail loop over and through the countless series of falls. These also previously powered grain mills, prior to a hydroelectric plant that brought power to the town of Sibenik before WWI repurposed the metals. The largest one, Skradinski Buk, was the first to power a whole city. God’s creative ability is unmatched!
God also blessed us with safe passage and another miracle in finding available street parking near old town Zadar. We whipped up a quick pasta with ajvar sauce, so we didn’t have to move the car. Please pray for a good meeting tomorrow with Miroslav, associate pastor of the Baptist Church in Zadar.
