Today reminded us of Matthew 5:13. We ventured with Miroslav to Nin a village about 15 km from Zadar, where salt was harvested for some 1500 years. The process is still by hand and labor intensive. Pools of sea water are evaporated and moved to ever decreasing sized pools. The salinity increases and eventually the salt crystallized. It was interesting to come from Salt Lake to learn about salt collection in Croatia.

Miroslav then handed us to Brian and his family, missionaries from Minnesota, who are in charge of kid’s Sunday school and youth group in Zadar. They shared their lives stories over a grilled meat feast for lunch.

Afterwards, we returned to the church for the youth meeting, where the topic was again Science and the Bible. This time the presentation was just in English, and the questions were about cloning and zonky. That was followed by snacks and games of the Fuzzies, a “Jenga” type game that we happily gifted to the church.

Today, we pray for the youth of the Baptist Church in Zadar that they would come to faith in Christ and continue in His ways as they mature.
