Service at the Baptist Church was 10 am. Because our phone alarm were smart, they knew that it was daylight savings in Europe, so we made it on time. Pastor Jared mentioned limited parking spaces in Salt Lake, and the 10 spaces here were also not enough. After a few praise songs and open community prayers, Pastor Miroslav preached on the mystery of the deity of Christ and His virgin birth.
Ja left with Brian’s wife Debbie and the younger kids for the last round of Easter story and coloring. They were able to tell about sin and Jesus’s salvation, and eagerly asked when they could start dunking eggs, or jaja in Croatian.
Many warm greetings followed the service, meeting many of the members. We joined Pastor Ivan Mustac and his family for lunch and talked about the church’s patient growth plans over pizza and pasta. The three children devoured a giant platter of fries and weinershnitzel. They asked for prayers that their church members would be intentional about mission and sharing Jesus with others, and that the counseling conference on Soul Care will bear much fruit.
The afternoon drive back to Zagreb was windy, long, and thankfully uneventful. Tomorrow’s wakeup call will be early at 3 am for a 6 am flight to Amsterdam, landing in Salt Lake at 1 pm. Thank you for coming along side of us to encourage us and our brothers and sisters in Christ in Croatia. We really appreciate your support and prayers on our journey.
