Day 4 Feb 12, 2024
The weather changed our plan a bit, but the bright cloudy sky still woke Scott up at 7:30. Ivan met us at Trsat Castle, which had an amazing view over the center of town. After climbing the tower and looking above the city, we headed to Otok Krk (Krk Island), the largest in Croatia. The city of Krk had not really awoken yet for the tourist season. We saw the crystal clear water, the closed castle, the cathedral, the dock area, and the old part of the city, where pathways are maybe five feet wide. We talked with Ivan about plans for what future mission trips might look like with a team of more than two. Pray that God would grow our team in coming years.
Next on the tour was Baska, a resort town on the far south end of the island. It has a pebble beach that would be very pleasant in July. We had dinner at Kvarner Bistro, one of maybe two restaurants that were open. The goulash was tasty.
The four of us returned to Ivan and Ines’ apartment and had a quick game of the Fuzzies and the Turing Machine. Did we mentioned that we packed five different games in our 40 lb luggages?
