Our Deacon team exists to serve the members of the church body. We draw our vision and focus from Acts 6:1-5a where the first Deacons were selected in order to oversee the fair distribution of food so that the twelve apostles might “devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word”. Our deacon team continues to pray for the church and the church family for healing and strength, for peace and patience, and for the glory of God to be shown. We’ve been contacting, encouraging, and safely visiting some members throughout this period. Many cards, condolences, calls and texts went out across the valley. A few furniture moves have been done down stairs and across the city. Meal deliveries appeared on doorsteps and your contributions made timely financial assistance possible. To God be the glory!

Some examples of our deacon ministries include:

  • Home and hospital visits
  • Transportation to church
  • Offering communion to shut-ins
  • Assisting with room set up and other preparations for Worship on Sunday mornings
  • Praying with people following each Worship service

Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word'. And what they said pleased the whole gathering...
