Ivan mercifully moved one of our appointments from this morning to Saturday. Otherwise, 7-hour difference would’ve made it 3 AM MST. Today Kika couldn’t make it so we met other church members Krešo, Lorena and son Karlo Brandt instead.
Over prosciutto, various drinks, dessert and other goodies, all homemade, we shared our stories from afternoon into the evening. They are former catholics who didn’t think that the many saints and mixed messages made sense. Lorena tried new age beliefs and other religions and came up empty. Krešo confessed a sin to the priest, who sentenced him to prayer time with God. Krešo couldn’t believe the priest considered time with God a punishment. Even Karlo at 4 years old argued with his teacher that Mary was not sinless.
Then they remembered a former neighbor who was a priest of a different religion and decided to give God one last chance. He answered all of her questions from the Bible, the one that the other priest discouraged from reading. Lorena came home the most joyous in her life. That was Pastor Milan Špoljarić of Krista Kralija. They’ve been members for over 2 years now, listening to praise music every morning and considered black sheep by their families. Please pray that they can be a light to their loved ones and to continue growing in Christ.
